Spike Renewables has designed and built a test rig to verify the effect of superficial treatments on single-phase heat exchange with geothermal brine.
The design and construction of the test rig WP2 is part of GeoHex project funded by CE trough the H2020 program.
The system is designed to test a single-phase heat exchanger, operating between an organic fluid and geothermal brine, in order to assess the influence and effectiveness of particular surface treatments on heat exchange. For this purpose, the test rig has been equipped with the appropriate adjustment, measurement and control instrumentation and will be used to carry out numerous testing campaigns with different exchange materials and surface treatments.
